Ronald W. Lanton III, Esq., has over 25 years of experience focused on government affairs and legal including activities on the municipal, state, and federal government levels with 15 years dedicated to the healthcare sector. Ron has been an Executive Director & Senior Counsel for a national boutique healthcare law firm. Prior to his law experience Ron founded the healthcare government affairs and lobbying firm True North Political Solutions. At True North, Ron lobbied and provided strategic consulting for retail/specialty pharmacies, HME, compounders, home infusion and device stakeholders throughout the country. Ron ran this company for 5 years.
Prior to creating True North, Ron created a government affairs department for wholesale-distributor H. D. Smith and served as the company’s exclusive lobbyist while also advocating for various healthcare customers including retail and specialty pharmacies, home infusion, long term care, institutional and Home Medical Equipment (HME). Serving for 7 years, Ron was able to learn the supply chain and interact with various stakeholders including hospitals, physicians and specialty pharmacies.
Ron has also worked at Stateside Associates, a greater Washington D.C. area government affairs consulting firm where he handled healthcare, energy, commerce and transportation issues. He has also clerked for a federal magistrate and was appointed as a municipal commissioner on beautification and environmental issues. He frequently consults Wall Street firms on financial issues related to the healthcare sector.
Ron is a featured industry speaker on issues such as pharmaceutical safety and healthcare cost containment. He has spoken at industry conferences such as the National Association for Specialty Pharmacy, the National Home Infusion Association, LogiPharma, SecurePharma, WellSky and Innovatix. He has authored numerous articles regarding pharmacy and healthcare law and is a regular contributor to Specialty Pharmacy Times, Biosimilar Development and the Center for Biosimilars.
